Hi Debby! Welcome to my blog - romantic suspense is one of my absolute favourite sub-genres so I am very much looking forward to hearing more about your latest release ISLAND HEAT. Let's get things started with my questions, shall we?
1.) Do you use pictures as inspiration at the start of a book?
The location is usually the inspiration for my stories. My first
book in the Carolina series, Mountain Blaze, takes place in the beautiful
mountains of North Carolina. Island Heat, my new release, is located on Hilton
Head Island, a wonderful setting with tall pine trees, live oaks dripping
Spanish moss, and enjoyable sandy beaches.
2.) What is your favourite period drama?
This would
have to be Downton Abbey. I actually had an opportunity to visit England and Highclere
Castle, the setting for the story. We even got to meet the current Countess,
who was friendly and welcoming.
3.) Are the titles of your books important?
I try to have the title blend with the story.
4.) Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Early bird. I find it’s easier to write before the distractions of the day take over.
5.) Do you have a pet peeve?
This would have to be
marketing! I understand it’s an important part of publishing, but I dislike
taking the time away from my writing. Besides, I’m terrible at it!
6.) Can you tell me a little about your next project?
The third book in my Carolina series will take place in Charleston SC.
I have the characters, location, plot, but can’t come up with a title.
