Where Do You Get Your Ideas From - Part 3

Welcome to part 3 of my current blog series - Where Do You Get Your Ideas From?

This week I'm sharing the inspiration behind book 3 in the Shop Girl series, A SHOP GIRL'S CHRISTMAS - although set at Christmas time it'sthe only book in the series that leans as much towards romantic suspense as it does romance!

Each of the books can be read as single titles, but book 3 is very much connected to book 1, A SHOP GIRL IN BATH, because there is a thread running through that story where we learn there is a killer on the run who the hero, Joseph Carter, has very personal reasons for wanting to see captured. However, it wasn't until I became obsessed with Rupert Penry-Jones in the TV series Whitechapel that Scotland Yard detective Stephen Gower leapt into my imagination fully formed (and no, he's not particularly like Rupert's character, after all!) that I knew I have found my hero for book 3 and the timing was right to finally track down the elusive murderer...

When Stephen joins forces with divorced shop girl Cornelia Culford things begin to heat up inside and outside of their burgeoning romance. I absolutely love writing crime into my books and I am happy to say that A SHOP GIRL'S CHRISTMAS is one of the most popular books in the series!

AND it is currently on offer at only 99p/$1.99...what are you waiting for?

Gripping drama as Pennington's department store prepares for a glittering Christmas in 1911, but a killer stalks the women of Bath.

Christmas sees Pennington's at its most glorious, thronged with shoppers, its grand staircase and balcony adorned with holly, mistletoe, tinsel and lights. It should be the happiest time, but dramas are seething beneath the surface.

For Cornelia Culford, in charge of jewellery, a divorce hearing looms, where she could lose custody of her young sons to her overbearing and unfaithful husband.

For Stephen Gower, being head of security at Pennington's is the perfect refuge from a tragic past at Scotland Yard. But soon the past will call him back, as Joseph Carter and Elizabeth Pennington beg him to help solve the murder of Joseph's first wife, now that it seems as if the killer has struck again.

For Joseph and Elizabeth, their marriage depends on exorcising the past. But can it ever be laid to rest?
