This month's book review is for Believe It by Jamie Kern Lima...
I am very much into self-development and self-empowerment so read a lot of inspirational books by people who have found their version of happiness and success. This, of course, doesn't always equate to financial success on an epic scale but, in the case of Jamie Kern Lima, this is absolutely the case!
Reading Jamie's entreprenerial journey and her belief in the make up range she created in order to help women suffering from skin conditions such as rosacea and acne was inspiring. Evenutally, the products became so successful, so sought after, that they were available commerically with the range duly expanded. The hours Jamie worked does seem a little ill-advised at times, but her love and commitment to her calling cannot be denied.
Going from desperately trying to get a spot on QVC to meeting Oprah and having her personal telephone number on her phone, Jamie makes a phenomenal leap and one that is wholly deserved.
Whether you are a novelist like me or someone who dreams of making a living from a service or product you have created, I highly recommend Believe It for a big dose of inspiration and belief that it CAN happen for any of us...
