What Am I Working On Right Now??

It's been four months since I last updated you with what I am working on, lovely readers - four months! Where does the time go??

Well, the current work in progress is book 2 in what I hope will be an ongoing series...with a possiblity of FIVE books! I'm scared even typing that...but one book at time, haha! Each book will be set in a past British royal court and at the centre will be the life and romance journey of a royal maid.

I signed a contract for book 1 with The Wild Rose Press in January and I hope the book will release in the summer, yay! This book is set in the court of Queen Victoria and revolves around her housemaid, Violet - I absolutely loved writing this book as it has always been an aspiration of mine to include real people and events in my fictional stories and I have finally done it!

Victoria and Violet is my current pride and joy and I cannot wait for you to read it - I just know you are going to love it as much as I do.

So, as well as final edits for book 1, I am two-thirds the way through the first draft of book 2 which is set in the court of Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra. I am having so much fun with this one! Anna, the maid has the biggest heart EVER and her hero is such a challenge for her, sometimes I can't decide if I want to hug him or slap him. Either way, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself!

On top of my writing work, I am busy working on all the wonderful first chapters that drop into my inbox for my First Chapter Critique service - don't forget to get in touch if you are working on a novel, I'd love to help.

And that's it - that's where I am right now. While we wait for my summer release, are you up to date with the Ladies of Carson Street? Don't forget book 3, A Very Modern Marriage, is out now...

Happy Reading!

He needs a wife...
Manchester industrialist William Rose was a poor lad from the slums who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, but in order to achieve his greatest ambitions he must become the epitome of Victorian respectability: a family man.

She has a plan...
But the only woman who's caught his eye is sophisticated beauty Octavia Marshall, one of the notorious ladies of Carson Street. Though she was once born to great wealth and privilege, she's hardly respectable, but she's determined to invest her hard-earned fortune in Mr Rose's mills and forge a new life as an entirely proper businesswoman.

They strike a deal that promises them both what they desire the most, but William's a fool if he thinks Octavia will be a conventional married woman, and she's very much mistaken if she thinks the lives they once led won't follow them wherever they go.

In the third instalment of Rachel Brimble's exciting Victorian saga series, The Ladies of Carson Street will open the doors on a thoroughly modern marriage – and William is about to get a lot more than he bargained for...
