This month's review is for The Duchess by Wendy Holden.
Anyone who knows me personally or follows me on social media will know how much of a royalty buff I am, so when a friend chose The Duchess as her choice for our book club, I was delighted...and the book did not disappoint!
I absolutely loved this book and following Wallis before she met the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) through to his death was a journey of ups and downs, laughter and sadness. Wendy Holden really brought everything to life through Wallis' eyes so very well. The book is written in an addictive way in that you are taken back through their relationship and then brought to Edward's funeral, back and forth throughout, which only enhances what is already a page-turning read.
This is a great read for any fans of Royalty, anyone fascinated with Wallis Simpson or someone who just loves to read about a truly fascinating relationship. I enjoyed The Duchess so much, I have downloaded Wendy's previous release The Governess...
