I am so ridiculously excited that A SHOP GIRL AT SEA releases TOMORROW!! Woohoo!
The buy links are at the bottom of this post if you haven't ordered your copy yet - this book might just be my favourite Pennington's story so far!
Okay, so five things you need to know about A SHOP GIRL AT SEA:
1) The book partially takes place on the Titanic
2) Amelia Wakefield is Pennington's head window dresser and is in constant battle with herself over a past event that continues to shape her present and future
3) Samuel Murphy is probably my favourite hero so far - he is full of conflicting emotions, strong and resilient but has a heart that made me melt every time he stepped onto the page.
4) There is a subplot to this story involving assistant window dresser, Ruby Taylor who is in love with another female member of staff. This is the first time I have tackled a same-sex romance and I absolutely loved writing it!
5) I planned for A SHOP GIRL AT SEA to be the last book in the Pennington's series but due to a need in myself to write more and pleas from my editor AND readers, there's every chance we could be back at Bath's finest department store sooner than we thought!
BLURB & BUY LINKS:
Bath, 1912.
Amelia Wakefield loves working at Pennington's, Bath's finest
department store. An escape from her traumatic past, it saved her life. So when
Miss Pennington sets her a task to set sail on the Titanic and
study the department stores of New York, she couldn't be more excited – or
determined!
Frustrated with his life at
home, Samuel Murphy longs for a few weeks of freedom and
adventure. Meeting Amelia on board the Titanic, Samuel can't help
wonder what painful history has made the beauty so reserved. But he already has
too many responsibilities for love.
Ruby Taylor has always kept her Pennington co-workers at a
distance. Making sure her little brother is safe has always been her priority.
But when that means accepting Victoria Lark's offer of sanctuary, more than one
of Ruby's secrets is under threat of being revealed...
A riveting and uplifting saga, perfect for fans of Elaine
Everest and Fiona Ford.
