BOOK REVIEW: Felicity's War by Jean Fullerton (Blog Tour)

MY REVIEW

I first discovered Jean Fullerton's books after meeting her at my first Romantic Novelists Association conference back in 2010. Since then, I have been a huge fan and have been eagerly waiting for this third instalment (book 2 is a novella) in the Stepney Girls series for far too long!

Felicity's War is all I ever want in a saga novel - family, friends, work, life and love! The characters, from heroine Fliss Carmichael, our detective inspector hero Tim Wallace and each secondary character, they are all so well drawn they each feel entirely human and people I'd love to know.

The balance of high and lows, heartbreak and humour (which is particularly brilliant!) is just right and I devoured this book in less than three days. I am a huge admirer of Jean's writing and she has once again delivered a 5 star read with Felicity's War - you'll have to read the book to find out more. Highly recommended!

Felicity’s War

1941. Whilst London is battered by air raids, Felicity ‘Fliss’ Carmichael has troubles of her own. Reeling from her fiancé’s betrayal, she flees to her

family home at St. Winifred’s Rectory.

Though heartbroken, Fliss finds purpose again as a journalist. On assignment, she crosses paths with Detective Inspector Timothy Wallace, who shares

her passion for truth and justice - though not necessarily her political beliefs. Despite their differences, an instant spark ignites between them.

In a city under siege, Fliss and Tim forge an unlikely bond. But can their blossoming romance endure the perils ahead?
