MY REVIEW

As a history geek and novelist who harbours a special fascination with past British royal history, I was so excited to read this book about Nell Gwyn's lesser known sister, Rose. This is a dual-timeline novel set in 1671 - as much as I love this genre, I have to say I always enjoy the historical narrative more than I do the contemporary. Having said that, I loved everything about this book and Nicola skillfully weaves the past and present seamlessly together making for a brilliant read.

There was so much convincing historical detail in this book that I am desperate to ask the author what was true and what was fictional! Added to that was the fabulous romance between Rose and the rather dashing Guy Forster... 

A really great read that had me gripped from the very first page!
