MY REVIEW

I have read many of Louise's books and always look forward to her next release and it was the same with The Summer of Lies.

Written with the author's unique touch of blending the ordinary with the extraordinary, we follow the story's protagonist, Mila Shephard as she works to finding missing and severely ill Briony Moorcroft, who has been either kidnapped or coerced into disappearing with a woman who works for her parents.

In this race against time/missing person/mystery novel, the reader is taken on a rollercoaster of events, secrets, friendship and lies.

It is fantastically written and kept me turning the pages until the very end - I was thrilled to discover there will be a sequel...

The Summer of Lies

The summer is the hottest yet in the Brittany coastal town of Morranez, but when a new case lands on the desk of the Toussaints detective agency, there can be no time to relax. As wild fires bear down on the town, the alert goes out for a missing girl.
