MY REVIEW
This month's review is for A Fond Farewell for the Tobacco Girls by Lizzie Lane...
This is the sixth and final instalment in this fabulous WWII saga set in Bristol (my hometown!) and starring firm friends Maisie, Phyllis & Bridget. From their first meeting while working at the tobacco factory, to the onset and duration of war, to marriages and now their pending post-war futures, this series is endlessly emotional, funny and poignant, a saga I have enjoyed from beginning to end.
In this final book, we discover whether the girls will remain in Bristol or be separated through love and tragedy. I don't want to risk any spoilers so all I'll say is you won't be disappointed and there is every possibility you will feel as sad as I do to say goodbye to the wonderful '3 M's'...
Highly recommended...
