Introducing Violet Parker & James Greene, the hero & heroine of Victoria & Violet...

The hero and heroine of my latest novel, VICTORIA & VIOLET, are the sort of people who are really wonderful as individuals, but together they are fabulous! Their romance was an absolute joy to write because they made it so easy. With Violet's courage to battle against her overbearing mother and James's determination to live a life of his own making rather than what is expected in aristocratic circles, this couple are literally the power couple of 1839!

When the book opens, Violet has been told by her mother and the Duchess of Kent that she will work in Queen Victoria's apartments as her personal housemaid. At first, Violet is overjoyed that she will finally escape the clutches of hers and Victoria's tyrannical mothers...but then she realises she is being given the position because they expect her to manipulate the young queen to the duchess's benefit.

That does not sit well with Violet at all and soon she has put other plans in place - a plan to work hard, be utterly loyal and devoted to Victoria in the hope the monarch comes to like her enough that Victoria keeps her as her maid regardless of what Violet's mother and the duchess might or might not want.

Then Violet meets handsome courtier and assistant to Lord Melbourne, James Greene. James is heir to a looming baronetcy, but he would much rather stay at court, working hard for the prime minister, than step into the role of landed gentry. Part playboy, part complete dependability, James is somewhat of a conundrum at the beginning of the book and it soon becomes clear that he has to make a decision. One way or the other, what does really want in his future and how is he going to make that ideal happen? Soon, it unfolds that the life he sees has a certain royal housemaid at its very heart...

VICTORIA & VIOLET is out now and the reviews have been fantastic! Get your copy today and lose yourself in the scandals, conspiracies and romance of Queen Victoria's court...

It should be a dream come true to serve the Queen of England…

When Violet Parker is told she will be Queen Victoria’s personal housemaid, she cannot believe her good fortune. She finally has the chance to escape her overbearing mother, a servant to the Duchess of Kent.

Violet hopes to explore who she is and what the world has to offer without her mother’s schemes overshadowing her every thought and action.

Then she meets James Greene, assistant to the queen’s chief political adviser, Lord Melbourne. From entirely different backgrounds and social class, Violet and James should have neither need nor desire to speak to one another, yet through their service, their paths cross and their lives merge—as do their feelings.

Only Victoria’s court is not always the place for romance, but rather secrets, scandals, and conspiracies…
