This month's review is for the rather fabulous Do Let's Have Another Drink by the equally fabulous Gareth Russell.
If, like me, you are a bit of British royal nut, this latest offering by Gareth is a wonderful read - focusing on the long life of Elizabeth, the Queen Mother (once consort to King George VI). It starts at the very beginning of her life and we are a spectator watching a young Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon grow through family changes, her courtships, her duty to royal life and a multitude of external influences that shape and serve her before and during her time as a very senior, highly visible member of the royal family.
Told with Gareth's signature humour, this book is a wonderful study of an immensely popular Queen Consort and mother to Queen Elizabeth II. A must read for any fan of past British royalty.
Happy Reading!
