Podcast Love! What I'm listening to - Part 1

I thought it might be fun to share which podcasts I regularly listen to and why I love them!

My listening is pretty much split between my two current passions - history and self-development. So I've decided to share them in two instalments so I can mention as many as possible. Podcasts are one of my favourite things on the planet - I am a student, ready and willing to absorb all the wonderful knowledge on offer and listen while driving or relaxing. Bliss...

Part 1 - History

Okay, here are my Top 5 history podcasts (in no particular order) - I hope you're tempted to subscribe, too.

Not Just The Tudors - Presented by fabulous historian Suzannah Lipscomb, this podcast is exactly what it says it is. There is a definite lean towards the Tudor period, but also a sprinkling of Medieval, the Stuarts and history from the French court.

Talking Tudors - Australian presenter Natalie Grueninger evokes huge enthusiasm and passion for all things Tudor as she interviews guests of every possible specialist subject. From clothes, to Tudor figures, to personal papers and jewellery, this podcast covers it all.

Single Malt History with Gareth Russell - Gareth is one of my favourite historians because his wit and quips are as fantastic as his knowledge. Passionate about events such as the Titanic, Irish history, European and Tudor history, Gareth makes for brilliant & fun listening!

Bad Women - This is a darker podcast presented by Hallie Rubenhold, the historian who wrote The Five about the five victims of Jack The Ripper. This book really moved me - so much so it inspired my Ladies of Carson Street trilogy. The first season delves deeper into The Five and season 2 tells the history of the Black Out Ripper. Well worth a visit.

Wicked Women - Grace Beattie explores famous and not so famous women who history has given a pretty bad name and repetition, asking if the stories are true or justified. From Mary I to Alexandra Romanov and Barbara Villers, this a brilliant contribution to the women who went before us.

I hope I have given you some listening inspiration! Stay tuned for part 2 next week...
