1.) What was your first job? Did you like or dislike it? Why?
I was a waitress in an ice cream shop. I liked it a lot because I like interacting
with people.
2.) Do you have a pet peeve? If so what is it?
I
hate pollution of any kind, but especially plastic on the beach.
3.) Do you spend more time researching or writing?
Researching! There is so much history, mythology, romance, and magic to weave into
my novels!
4.) Tell me about your book and where you got your inspiration for it?
My trilogy is a dark fantasy paranormal
romance adaptation of the medieval French legend of “Tristan et Yseult”
(Tristan and Isolde in English). My newest release, “The Lady of the Mirrored Lake’,
is book 2 of The Wild Rose and the Sea
Raven trilogy. I got the inspiration
through research into the enchanted Forest of Brocéliande, where my novels take
place. There is a lake called Le Miroir aux Fées (The Mirror of the
Fairies), and I wove together the dark French lore related to this mysterious
lake with the paranormal romance aspect of my trilogy. Since my female
protagonist was trained by the Lady of the Lake Viviane to become a healer on the
Island of Avalon, I wove it all together and had Issylte—my heroine-- become
The Lady of the Mirrored Lake.
5.) How much of your book is realistic?
The
locations are real places in England, France, and Ireland. The characters are fictional, based on myths
and legends.
The conclusion of my trilogy, entitled “The Emerald Fairy and the
Dragon Knight”, will be published soon by The Wild Rose Press. I have submitted another novel, “Winter Solstice
in the Crystal Castle”, which I hope will land a contract as well. I am currently writing “The Elven Mirror”, which
features the next generation of characters introduced in my trilogy. I have plans to write several additional dark
fantasy paranormal romance novels in this genre. I also have begun an adaptation of Victor
Hugo’s Notre-Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame), from the perspective
of Esméralda the gypsy dancer, interwoven with the lives of the famous playwright
Molière and a musical genius, inspired by the classical musician Lully and the fictional
Phantom of the Opera!
7.) Who is your role model? Why?
Sarah J. Maas. I absolutely love her blend of passionate
romance, danger, dark magic, and Fae lore!
8.) Share one fact about yourself that would surprise people.
I create Renaissance Denim Couture, where I upcycle vintage
denim and give it new life with French bohémienne flair. I take vintage
jeans and turn them into bohemian denim skirts with ruffled lace, silk, velvet,
beads, and huge rose pins. Or I take vintage denim jackets and turn them into
romantic dusters with tulle, lace, and bling.

BIO:
Enthralled with legends of medieval knights
and ladies, dark fairy tales and fantasies about Druids, wizards and magic,
Jennifer Ivy Walker always dreamed of becoming a writer. She fell in love with
French in junior high school, continuing her study of the language throughout
college, eventually becoming a high school teacher and college professor of
French.
As a high school teacher, she took her students every year to the annual French
competition, where they performed a play she had written, "Yseult la Belle
et Tristan la Bête"--an imaginative blend of the medieval French legend of
"Tristan et Yseult" and the fairy tale "Beauty and the
Beast", enhanced with fantasy elements of a Celtic fairy and a wicked witch.
Her debut novel, "The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven"--the first of a
trilogy-- is a blend of her love for medieval legends, the romantic French
language, and paranormal fantasy. It is a retelling of the medieval French
romance of "Tristan et Yseult", interwoven with Arthurian myth, dark
fairy tales from the enchanted Forest of Brocéliande, and otherworldly elements
such as Avalonian Elves, Druids, forest fairies and magic.
Explore her realm of Medieval French Fantasy. She hopes her novels will enchant
you.
