I'm often asked if I only read historical fiction or historical romance - an understandable question considering that is what I am known for writing, but the answer is I read almost anything and everything! The only genres I don't read are science fiction and horror.
For a voracious reader like me (and I'm sure you!), it is hard enough to walk past a bookshop and not rush in to buy 3 or 4 books. To ask me to choose one or two favourite genres is definitely a challenge! The truth is, I read crime novels, contemporary romance, biographies, self-development books and, of course, lots of historical fiction and romance.
Reading is a lifeline for me - if I haven't got a book or my kindle with me at all times, I am twitchy. God forbid, I get caught in a long queue or delayed at an appointment without a book. I'm sure you can relate! Also, I am that person who cannot hide anything on her face - being held bookless past my appointment time means I will be found wearing the expression of someone on the brink of slamming herself on the floor, pulling her hair out and screaming accusations I would not want my mother to hear!
Books are so important and here to stay so, if you are an obsessive reader and love that what you choose to do in your spare time means peace and quiet, no harm to anyone else (unless they unduly disturb you) and is more often than not affordable, don't like anyone take it away from you...
Own your reading, people - OWN IT!!
Happy Reading,

My latest release A VERY MODERN MARRIAGE is out now! Here's the blurb & buy link:
He needs a wife...
Manchester industrialist William Rose was a poor lad from the slums who pulled
himself up by his bootstraps, but in order to achieve his greatest ambitions he
must become the epitome of Victorian respectability: a family man.
She has a plan...
But the only woman who's caught his eye is sophisticated beauty Octavia
Marshall, one of the notorious ladies of Carson Street. Though she was once
born to great wealth and privilege, she's hardly respectable, but she's
determined to invest her hard-earned fortune in Mr Rose's mills and forge a new
life as an entirely proper businesswoman.
They strike a deal that promises them both what they
desire the most, but William's a fool if he thinks Octavia will be a
conventional married woman, and she's very much mistaken if she thinks the
lives they once led won't follow them wherever they go.
In the third instalment of Rachel Brimble's exciting Victorian saga series, The Ladies of Carson Street will open the doors on a thoroughly modern marriage – and William is about to get a lot more than he bargained for...
