What You Need To Know About A Very Modern Marriage...

I am so excited with the reviews for A Very Modern Marriage which released in February! I absolutely loved writing the book and it seems readers love it too.

Have you bought your copy of the third & final book of the Ladies of Carson Street trilogy yet? Have you read the first two books?

This series is so special to me because it was such a huge risk to write a trilogy where the three starring heroines are prostitutes - would my publisher go for the idea? Would my readers?
Thankfully, the answer was a resounding YES!

Books 1 & 2 (A Widow's Vow & Trouble For The Leading Lady) were received equally as well, both receiving amazing reader feedback and five star reviews.

A Very Modern Marriage is Octavia's story, the most serious of the three women who live and work in the Carson Street house, a townhouse situated in the backstreets of Bath, England. At the opening of the book, Octavia is concerned about her future at the house as she stands at the sidelines watching her best friends in the entire world slowly move away from her and into their new lives - or at least she imagines that is what they are doing.

So, determined to make her own way and not have to rely on her friends' generosity, Octavia decides she will draw on her early breeding and education to embark on a future as a businesswoman in her own right - the problem is, she needs to find someone who can teach her the ropes and he or she must be one, a top business person and two, someone she can trust to have her best interests at heart.

Then along comes William Rose, a cotton mill owner from Manchester and Octavia soon believes she has found her perfect tutor. The trouble is, William is no fool and will not be giving away his hard earned experience to anyone without it bringing some sort of benefit to him, too.

Eventually, the two of them strike a deal and then the real story begins!

I adored writing this novel and I really hope you adore reading it - If you haven't already, download your copy today, you won't be disappointed :)

He needs a wife...
Manchester industrialist William Rose was a poor lad from the slums who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, but in order to achieve his greatest ambitions he must become the epitome of Victorian respectability: a family man.

She has a plan...
But the only woman who's caught his eye is sophisticated beauty Octavia Marshall, one of the notorious ladies of Carson Street. Though she was once born to great wealth and privilege, she's hardly respectable, but she's determined to invest her hard-earned fortune in Mr Rose's mills and forge a new life as an entirely proper businesswoman.

They strike a deal that promises them both what they desire the most, but William's a fool if he thinks Octavia will be a conventional married woman, and she's very much mistaken if she thinks the lives they once led won't follow them wherever they go.

In the third instalment of Rachel Brimble's exciting Victorian saga series, The Ladies of Carson Street will open the doors on a thoroughly modern marriage – and William is about to get a lot more than he bargained for...
