I am a natural worrier... one of those people who overthinks EVERYTHING! However, at the start of 2021 it was becoming a real problem and affecting my life and happiness to such an extent I knew I had to do something about it.
Whether my fears and anxieties were exacerbated by the pandemic, who knows? Either way, I was determined 2021 became the year that I faced my tendency to worry about everything little thing head-on and see what happens.
I am proud to say as we approach the tenth month in the year, my unnecessary anxiety about the 'what ifs' in life has reduced by at least 70% - now, that might not seem enough or maybe you're thinking I could have done better by now if I really put my mind to it but, for me, this is HUGE!
I feel more positive, happier and ready to face my deeper fears with more confidence than I have since I was in my twenties and that feels amazing. I have taken leaps of faith, put myself in social situations where I am uncomfortable and said 'yes' more than ever.
Life is about evolving, sharing and caring - that's my philosophy anyway. What's yours?? Have you tackled an emotional or mental demon this year? If yes, I hope things are progressing in the right direction for you as they are for me...
