2020 has been a year like no other... at least it has in my lifetime!
When we went into the first Covid19 lockdown in April, the mood of the nation was swept into the unknown. How could we not see our nearest and dearest? How would we cope without socialising or seeing friends? What about the shopping?
Things became and felt crazy...
But, as the year went on and we adjusted to this new way of life, I think most of us became more tolerant, sympathetic and generous than we've ever been before. We started to care about those isolated and completely alone, thought about the people without a garden or any way of getting outside and prated for all the single parents doing their best and the abusive households all over the country.
Even though things are far from over, hope is very much alive with the creation of a vaccine and the spirit of human kindness.
2020 taught me that the things I thought important no longer are and the things I took for granted are the things I need the most - slowing down is not a sin. Spending time playing games, watching a film or talking with family is not an interruption or time when I could be getting something practical done. These things are precious and I pray that I remember that going forward...
Here's to a much happier, tolerant and grateful New Year!
