Christmas At Pennington's is book 3 in my Pennington's series (all books can be read as single titles) and is probably my favourite so far. It's always extra special to have the chance to write a Christmas book and imagining what the beautiful city of Bath and it's finest department store would have looked like in Christmas 1911 was wonderful.
Of course, my books wouldn't be mine with a villainous character or two to contend with and Christmas At Pennington's is no different. The book opens with the introduction of Scotland Yard detective, Stephen Gower, who has taken a temporary position at Pennington's as one of the store's security watchmen. He soon meets Cornelia Parker who work the jewellery counter and they are drawn into hunt for a killer who has evaded the police for years. All too soon these two strangers grow closer throughout their quest and the chance of romance emerges... if the obstacles keeping them apart can be overcome.
Blending crime and suspense into my books has become an expectation of my readers and that makes me so happy! Family and romance, drama and intrigue can be woven into a book whatever the time of year...
Happy reading!
Christmas At Pennington's can be preordered right now - here's the blurb and buy links:
Gripping
drama as Pennington's department store prepares for a glittering Christmas in
1911, but a killer stalks the women of Bath.
Christmas
sees Pennington's at its most glorious, thronged with shoppers, its grand
staircase and balcony adorned with holly, mistletoe, tinsel and lights. It
should be the happiest time, but dramas are seething beneath the surface.
For Cornelia
Culford, in charge of jewellery, a divorce hearing looms, where she could
lose custody of her young sons to her overbearing and unfaithful husband.
For Stephen
Gower, being head of security at Pennington's is the perfect refuge from
a tragic past at Scotland Yard. But soon the past will call
him back, as Joseph Carter and Elizabeth Pennington beg
him to help solve the murder of Joseph's first wife, now that it seems as if
the killer has struck again.
For Joseph and Elizabeth, their marriage
depends on exorcising the past. But can it ever be laid to rest?
