Welcome women's fiction author, Natalie K. Martin... *GIVEAWAY*

1.)              What was your first job? Did you like or dislike it? Why?
My first ever job was as a sales assistant in a sports shop, and I loved it. We were all around the same age and got on super well. It was awesome to basically get paid for hanging out with friends and getting 40% off everything. I amassed a huge trainer collection :)
2.)              Do you have a pet peeve? If so what is it?
It really gets on my nerves when people leave an empty roll of toilet paper instead of just replacing it. It takes like two seconds! Grrr.
3.)              Would you describe your style as shabby chic, timeless elegance, eclectic, country or ____?
It depends. I'd say it's a 'catch-all' style. At the moment I'm all about boyfriend jeans and Converse, or skinnies and ankle boots with a hoodie under a leather jacket. Saying that, it's almost winter now so I'll switch to whatever keeps me the warmest!
4.)              Tell me about your book {insert title here} and where you got your inspiration for it?
What Goes Down is about a family who are ripped apart when the daughter gets an email from a stranger who claims to be her real dad. From there on in, secret after secret emerges and things get worse for Seph, who begins to struggle with her mental health. It's told from the points of view of the mother and daughter (Laurel and Seph), and takes place in the 1987/88 and the present day. The inspiration actually came from an article I read about people who go missing and notify the police that they're safe, but don't want to be found. I couldn't help wondering why that would happen, and the effect it would have on the family left behind.
5.)              Who is your role model? Why?
Hmmm. I don't know if I have one, to be honest. Is that weird? It feels strange to me to favour one person over another...
6.)              How much of your book is realistic?
I'd say about 99% of it. In a good way and a bad way. I like to write about things that actually happen to everyday people.
7.)              What are your ambitions for your writing career?
I'd love to continue! I've also got ideas for something in a completely different genre...it would be awesome to write it under a pen name. We'll see...
8.)              Share one fact about yourself that would surprise people.

I have extremely sensitive feet. I can't really walk around barefoot on uneven surfaces, or anything harder than rough sand - it makes me feel physically sick. Weird.

An emotional must-read of love, loss and second chances. Perfect for fans of Amanda Prowse and Julie Cohen.

Seph Powell has all she ever wanted: a close family, loving boyfriend and her dream career. A gifted artist with a highly anticipated exhibition just weeks away, life seems to be perfect. Until a man she's never met claims to be her real father.

Laurel and Tony Powell are devoted parents. Having worked hard to provide everything for Seph, they've created a picture-perfect family. Until Laurel's ex-boyfriend, Nico, comes back into their lives.

In the summer of 1987, Nico Papoulis stole Laurel's heart with promises of adventure and excitement. But then he disappeared without trace, leaving her as a single, teenaged parent. Now, twenty-five years later, he's back and keen to meet the daughter he left behind.

But Nico's sudden reappearance shows that nothing is quite as it first seems. As long hidden truths are exposed, everything Seph thought she knew begins to unravel, and the one person who can help her the most is the very person Laurel has tried so hard to protect her from.
