Hi, Georgina! So great to have you return to my blog for a guest appearance - I LOVE the look of your latest release, SUMMER SUNDAES! I'm looking forward to catching up with you and your work so why don't I kick off with my questions?
1.
What do you wish men understood about women?
That we
love having time to ourselves just to ponder, and that if we’ve decided not to
do something/go somewhere we can rarely be persuaded to do otherwise. Or is
that just me?
2.
Do you only work on one book at a time?
Yes,
usually. Though when I send a manuscript off for edits I’ll then work on the
next book. At the moment, I’m working on structural edits for a thriller
(written as Deborah Carr) and as soon as these are completed and sent off, I’ll
begin writing book 2 in my The Boardwalk by the Sea series, Autumn Antics. Can’t
wait!
3.
Who is your favorite fictional couple? Claire and Jamie
from Outlander.
4.
Do you have a favorite quote that sums up how you feel about
life?
George
Eliot: It is never too late to be what
you might have been.
5.
Do you set daily writing goals? Word count? Number of
chapters? Do you get a chance to write every day?
I
manage to write most days and feel like something is missing if I don’t. When
writing my first draft of a novel I aim to write 1,000 words in a day, but
usually do 2,500.
6.
What do you like better, Twitter or Facebook? Why?
I’m not sure… thinks… probably Twitter. I enjoy trying
to say something in only 140 characters. It’s not always easy, but it’s a good
exercise in tightening my writing.
7.
What are you working on now?
The thriller I mentioned above. I love writing different genres
and alternating between each book. When this is done, I’ll have had enough – for a while – of focusing on dark sides
of characters and will be ready to lose myself in a contemporary romance. I
love a little romance.
8. Tell us
about your latest release and where we can find it.
Summer Sundaes is book 1 in The Boardwalk by the Sea series. It’s
a four-book series set in a fictional seaside village on the island of Jersey. The
series covers a single year with the books each focusing on a season and on one
of four girlfriends who live on or near the boardwalk. There’s a mystery that
builds through each of the books and is solved at the end of book 4.
Book 1, Summer Sundaes, is Sacha’s story. Sacha runs a retro beach
café on the boardwalk, the Summer Sundaes Beach Café, having taken it over from
her father two years. Everything is going well for her. She has no competition
on the boardwalk as the only other businesses are Bella’s antique business and
Jools’ second-hand book shop.
Sacha accompanies her glamorous god-mother on a short trip to Rome
where she meets Alessandro Salvatore. He acts as her tour guide, but Sacha
discovers that isn’t what he does for a living. Alessandro is in fact an
archeologist and is about to… well, you’ll have to read the book to find out
more about him, and her, and what causes Sacha to panic that maybe her easy
life on the boardwalk is about to change, drastically.
Book 2, Autumn Antics, is about Bella, a part-time hand model who
runs a tiny antique business on the boardwalk.
Book 3, Winter Whimsy, is Lexi’s story. She runs three fisherman’s
cottages on the hill above the boardwalk as holiday lets, until her father
sells them to Oliver Whimsy. There’s nothing whimsical about Oliver Whimsy!
Book 4, Spring Siren, is Jools’ story. Jools is an artist who
lives with her disabled mum on the boardwalk and helps her mum run a
second-hand book shop, while building her own career.
For a quiet little seaside village with an above average quota of
hot men(!), there’s an awful lot going on, and some of it is going to lead to
big changes.
Thanks
very much for taking part in the blog tour, Rachel! x

GEORGINA TROY
Series: The Boardwalk by the Sea, Book 1
Author name: Georgina Troy
Genre: Contemporary Fiction/Romance
Release Date: 15 July 2017
Publisher: Green Shutter Books
Wipe off your flip flops, it’s going to be a bumpy ride...
When Sacha Collins, cafe owner and
sundae-maker extraordinaire, meets Italian archaeologist, Alessandro Salvatore in
Rome, she's grateful to him for being her tour guide. Now he’s turned up in the
seaside village where she lives, known locally as, The Boardwalk by the Sea and
is setting up a gelateria in direct competition to her retro Summer Sundaes Café.
She's only been running her café for two years
since taking over from her father. Until now the only other shops on the
boardwalk have been a wool shop, an antique shop and a second-hand book shop.
These have helped rather than hindered her custom. How will her creative
sundaes made from fresh Jersey ice cream compete with his delicious Italian
gelato?
Sacha is worried. Is there
enough custom for both businesses to thrive? Who is behind the strange changes
being made on the boardwalk? And when the oldest resident on the boardwalk is
threatened with eviction can Sacha and Alessandro come
together and find a way of helping her?
For a peaceful little boardwalk overlooking one
of the quieter beaches on the island, there's an awful lot going on and some of
it is going to lead to big changes.
