This month's review is for Ruined By The Reckless Viscount by Sophia James
This was the first Harlequin Historical I had read for a while, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A case of mistaken identity leads to our hero, Viscount Winterton, being shot and maimed by Lady Florentia Hale-Burton's father.
Having been found alone with the Viscount and the following shooting, Lady Hale-Burton's reputation is ruined and she spends years leading a quiet life enjoying her peace, solitude and painting. An unexpected meeting means she sees the face of the man who helped her that fateful night, the man her father wrongly assaulted.
Desperate to discover how that night affected him and if, like her, his life took an entire different path than it should have as a result. Donning a disguise as an emerging male painter, she manages to secure a commission to pain the Viscount's portrait...the rest I'll leave for you to discover for yourselves.
A really good read with lots of twists and turns, not to mention some fabulous secondary characters.
Happy Reading
