Hi, Cathryn! So fabulous to have you visit my blog today for the chance to get to know more about you and your work. Wishing you much success and sales with your latest release, The Secret Between Them - let's kick off with my questions...
1.)
What is the strangest talent you have?
Hmm. Starting from a
standstill, I can skate from one end of a rink to the other end on one foot.
Backwards and forwards. Left side and right.
2.)
What is the best Halloween costume you’ve ever
worn?
I’m the lady who
stays home and gives out candy to the trick-or-treaters, so the best I do for
costumes these days is a Venetian mask. J
3.)
Are the titles of your books important?
To me, they are.
Unfortunately, they sometimes get changed!
4.)
If you’re struggling with a scene or difficult
character, what methods help you through it?
If I’m struggling, it’s
usually because the “critical voice” in my head is strong that day. To drown
out the voice, I like to turn on my favorite music as loud as I can stand it
and tell myself to just write. No judgment. No perfection. As long as I get
words on the page, I can usually do something with it.
5.)
Do you prefer dog, cats or none of the above?
Otis the cat is my writing
companion. He’s 16 now, and very picky. He definitely rules the household.
6.)
Who’s your favourite author? Why?
Oh, this is an unfair question! I have so many
favorite authors that my bookshelves at home are bursting with “keeper books”
that I love to reread again and again.
For light-hearted contemporary romance, I will
say that a favorite is Susan Elizabeth Phillips. She consistently tells a good
romantic story that leaves me smiling.
7.)
Do you have a pet peeve?
Raisins inside baked goods.
8.)
Do you remember your dreams when you wake up in
the morning?
Absolutely! That’s why the morning is always the best
time to write!
Blurb: They share more than a past
A
Marine wounded, weary and wiser, Kyle Northrup had planned to stay far away
from Wallis Point. But after his stepfather’s passing, he must return home and
claim his unexpected inheritance: the ice rink he grew up on.
Except
he has to share ownership with Jessica Hughes, the hometown girl who got away
and whose figure skating career he ended. He’d hoped the rink would save him
once more, as it had when he was a grief-stricken youth, but working with
Jessica will be hard.
Especially
since his teenage infatuation is now full-blown adult attraction. And the last
thing he wants to do is hurt Jessica again.
