Thanks so much for having me here today!
1.
What do you wish men understood about women?
That bras are possibly one of the most wicked, awkward, evil
inventions of all times, and at the same time, woefully necessary for a lot of
us.
2.
Do you only work on one book at a time?
Yes, and no. I can only write one at a time. I’ve tried to switch
back and forth, but I get too emotionally
invested in the characters for that. But I tend to come up with my next
idea when I’m working on a current one. I have a hard drive full of sketched-in
outlines I’ve come up with for future books while writing a different one.
3.
Who is your favorite fictional couple?
Can I say Loki and Thor from the Avengers movies? The fangirl in
me outright squeals whenever they’re on screen together.
4.
Favorite TV show?
I don’t watch a lot of TV, at least not as it airs. We got rid of
our cable a few years back, so I tend to watch all my TV entire seasons at a
time on NetFlix or Amazon Prime. It makes it tough to pick a favorite, because
I’m not tuning in week after week, but the best I’ve watched recently are Game of Thrones and House of Cards.
5.
Do you set daily writing goals? Word count? Number of
chapters? Do you get a chance to write every day?
When
I’m on a deadline, I set chapter goals for myself. I don’t work so well on a
daily schedule, but I’m usually (not always…okay, only sometimes really)
disciplined enough to say I’ll finish x number of chapters by the end of the
week. I don’t get to write every day, but I tend to write in big bursts
–thousands of words at a time, so missed days are easily made up.
6.
Who was the last person you hugged?
My
sweetie, every morning before I go to work. We’re both kind of sappy and
romantic like that <3 o:p="">3>
7.
What are you working on now?
I haven’t done more than hint at any of this online, so I’m going
to spill the beans here. My alter ego, Loralie Hall, has a new urban fantasy
coming this summer, called Uriel’s Fall,
and I’m neck deep in edits to make sure it’ll be ready on time. Angels, demons,
and the world’s biggest (fictional) search engine. The eternal struggle between
heaven and hell has gone corporate.
8. Tell us
about your latest release and where we can find it
In February, I released a short called Operation: Cupid, for Valentine’s Day (http://www.allysonlindt.co/operation-cupid/). It’s a sweet and sexy love story about a love that transcends the
ultimate obstacle—death.
Learning New Tricks
by Allyson Lindt
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Archer should be focusing on how to keep
his comic book shop from financially crashing and burning in an epic way.
However, when his sexy-as-hell best friend and Sunday-afternoon-movie buddy, Tori,
asks him to teach her how to keep emotions out of sex, he welcomes the
distraction.
Tori couldn’t ask for a better best friend
than Archer. He respects her fandom, and he lets her sell her custom-made
costumes in his store. Even better, he’s willing to give her a hands-on
demonstration of how to keep love and sex separate. Experience has taught her
not to fall for a guy who’s as infatuated with an ex-girlfriend as Archer is,
so she’s already got the no-love bit covered.
With each new lesson, the line between the
physical and emotional blurs a little more. Can they let go of their pasts—and
learn a few new tricks along the way—or will they lose their friendship and
budding relationship for good?
EXCERPTS
Archer intertwined his fingers with Tori’s and tugged her off the stool.
“Come on.” His voice was gentle. “Let’s de-stress.”
She didn’t resist as he pulled her up the stairs to his apartment. She
was glad she didn’t mind following him, because she’d used up all her arguments
for the day. When they were inside, they both kicked their shoes off out of
habit. He locked the door, and then turned her so her back was to him.
His hands rested on her shoulders, thumbs softly kneading her neck. “You
were brilliant today.”
She tilted her head forward, moaning at the gentle touch. “I was
terrified.”
The massage deepened, and his voice was soothing. “But the important
thing is, you did it anyway.”
She leaned into the attention, not sure how to respond. His lips brushed
the back of her neck, and she gasped in pleasure and surprise.
“Sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.”
“You should have.” She tilted her head to the side to expose more of her
neck. She’d turned off the filter which kept her from speaking her mind; part
of her wasn’t ready to turn it back on yet. Especially with other parts of her
turned on by his touch, and his soft lips. “And you should do it again.”
His tongue glided up her skin until he met her ear, and his teeth nipped
at the lobe. His whisper brushed her skin, sending a pleasant chill through
her. “Have I ever told you how much I like it when you talk like that?”
DeleteOk, I'm playing catch up on your tour this week because, well, to be honest I hated missing your posts! Great interview today, I loved the bra thing... next on my list would be panties. Yep, I'm a free baller lol. Uriels story sounds awesome, I'll keep watch for it.
I'm glad you were able to catch up, Elise-Maria :) And I'll agree about the panties, lol. Uriel's story will be longer, too. A full-length novel, and I know you prefer those, so around July keep an eye out.
