Well, here it is - 2013...
I'm old enough that just looking at that number makes me think of futuristic films and books - literally something out of a different century. 2013. How did that happen??
So...the plans, the goals, the aspirations and changes are a-whirling in my mind and once again, I hope this will be a fantastic year spiritually, emotionally and professionally. I can't imagine how I will top 2012 as far as my writing goes but we'll see. Having made the lifelong goal of writing for a major publisher, I now write contemporary stories for Harlequin Superromance and Victorian romances for Kensington. A dream come true!
As far as I can hope and pray, I will continue to write for Harlequin and Kensington throughout 2013 - the question is how much I can actually produce! My goal is to write at least two and half full-length novels with a couple of novellas...or short stories thrown in for good measure ;)
Spiritually, I intend to work on finding more balance in my life and living by the Serenity Prayer -
"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."
I'm going to start a 'gratitude journal' and list three things every night that I am grateful for that have happened throughout the day - a guaranteed way to make me appreciate the small as well as big things I might have taken for granted before. I'm also going to re-read 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle. A must read for everyone on this planet!
2013 has the potential to be the best year ever for all of us - I wish you every happiness, success and personal growth possible. Thank you for your unending support and hope you enjoy the four books I have coming out this year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Love,
Rachel xx

What lovely aims for the year! The Serenity Prayer is my favourite, although I wish I remembered it more often when it really matters. I haven't read 'A New Earth', but I'll definitely look out for it. Eckhart Tolle is a wise man.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Stephanie! That's so true - that's why I'm really going to try and focus on the things I can change and not the things I can't. We drive ourselves mad worrying about the past or what other people have said or done to us. Why? Such wasted energy...
DeleteA New Earth is an amazing, life-affirming book - buy it!

I am so proud of you Rachel. I can tell everyone that I knew you before Harlequin. They are still my dream publisher to write for but baby steps. My debut just released and I'm still writing my current WIP.
