Looking forward to this - let's get started with the questions...
1)
Did you
set any goals for 2012?
What a great question for me
considering I set my biggest word count goal ever this year! I planned to write
1k a day for 365 days, or 365k a year, which is 6 novels, depending on how
long they are. So far I’m doing pretty good. There was only one month where I
was way below my goal, and I gone over for a few months to catch up.
2)
What is
the best part of the writing process for you?
Seeing my book cover! Reading great
reviews! Holding my book in my hands!
3)
The worst
part?
Reading the snarky reviews. People can
be so mean.
4)
What is
the book you wish you’d written?
Lord of the Rings! I keep trying to
rival it with an epic fantasy of my own and keep coming up short!
5)
Favourite
author/s & book/s?
I love Patricia McKillip’s writing.
I’ve also read a lot of Tad William’s books and especially love his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy. I
recently read Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn
Anderson and thought that was exceptionally good.
6)
Tell us
about your latest release?
Haven 6 is the
final book in the New Dawn series! I’m so excited to finish! I’ve never written
something so epic as this series before.
7)
What is
your favourite attribute of the hero and heroine?
I always love writing strong female
heroines, and Eri really progresses from an insecure girl to a warrior woman by
the end of the novel!
8)
What’s
next?
The
YA tie in series to the New Dawn series is coming out November 7th
from Inkspell Publishing. Titled Colonization:
Paradise Reclaimed, it answers a lot of the questions left by Paradise 21. After that, my very first
contemporary romance is coming out through Entangled Publishing’s Bliss line!
Titled, My Maestro, it’s about a
flutist who falls in love with her conductor.
9)
Tell me
where you write?
At my computer!
10)
Where
would you like your career to be in 5 years?
I’d
love to have more books published in multiple genres! More YA, contemporary
romance, and even a fantasy romance.
11)

Aubrie is hosting a contest to win this fabulous necklace - enter here:
The book blurb is:
A product of an illegal pairing, Eridani is the
only woman without a lifemate aboard the colonization ship, the Heritage, and
she is determined her less than perfect DNA will not get in the way of finding
love. As the ship nears it's final destination of Haven 6 after five hundred
years of travel, images of the surface show evidence of intelligent life on a
planet that's supposed to be uninhabited. Commander Grier assigns Eri to the
exploratory team to spy on the alien society and return with information on how
to defeat them.
When Eri's team lands, tribes of humans attack and
Eri is saved by Striver, the descendant of a colonist and a pirate from Old
Earth's colonization efforts in other parts of the galaxy. Striver helps Eri
rescue her team and they are drawn to each other despite their different
allegiances. While Striver battles with trusting Eri, Eri must decide whether
to warn him and his people about the commander's intentions, or follow orders
and complete her mission.
My bio and links are:
Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars
movies over and over again until she could recite and reenact every single
scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next
Generation-favorite character was Data by far-, and Indiana Jones. But, her all
time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn
decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.
Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she
wanted to be "A concert flutist" when she grew up. When she made that
happen, she decided one career was not enough and embarked as a fantasy, sci fi
author. Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.
Now for the professional bio:
Aubrie Dionne is an author and flutist in New
England. Her writings have appeared in Mindflights, Niteblade, Silver Blade,
Emerald Tales, Hazard Cat, Moon Drenched Fables, A Fly in Amber, and Aurora
Wolf. Her books are published by Entangled Publishing, Lyrical Press, and Gypsy
Shadow Publishing. She recently signed her YA sci fi novel with Inkspell
Publishing titled: Colonization: Paradise Reclaimed, which will release in
November 2012. When she's not writing, Aubrie teaches flute and plays in
orchestras. She's a big Star Trek TNG fan, as well as Star Wars and Serenity.
Okay, over to you guys - be sure to comment and enter the contest for that beautiful necklace!
