Welcome fellow Eternal Press author, Kari Thomas!

SO happy to have you here today, Kari! It has been far too long since I've had another Eternal Press author visit with me. I have heard lots of exciting things about Eternal and believe them to be going from strength to strength. Who was your editor? I worked with Pam Slade on The Sharp Points of a Triangle. She was great!

Okay, on with the interview...

1)   Did you set any goals for 2012?
K: LOL--- ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you that Im the worlds-worse for setting LOTS of goals. Now, it's the "working" on those goals that seem to be the problem. As the year progresses, I purposely forget most of them!

2)   What is the best part of the writing process for you?
K: LOVE it all. Okay, not so much the editing part. But I do love the creative process. Im one of those seat-of-the-pants writers so I let my characters carry the story through the way they want it.

3)   The worst part?
K: Editing, hands down!

4)   What is the book you wish you’d written?
K: Christine Feehan's "Dark Desire". That book had so much emotion in it; it was a roller coaster ride I enjoyed enough to re-read. And I dont say that about many books.

5)   Favourite author/s & book/s?
K: Too many to list! LOL! Im a professed Book-A-Holic!  I love Christine, of course, Mary Corrales, Deborah McGillivray, Lora Leigh, Amber Polo has one coming out that's going to be a Favorite (I've had the privilege to read an ARC!), and the list goes on.....!

6)   Tell us about your latest release?
K: The latest is SURRENDER HER TOUCH. My hero is a Dragon Shapeshifter. The heroine is a Healer. Dragons murdered her family and she has been in hiding all her life. When the Ruler of the Dragon Clan near her is suddenly ill, she is needed. But giving of her healing skills might kill her.....Body and Soul.

7)   Tease us with a blurb/short except

Surrendering could be fatal...
Surrendering her touch could be fatal...; will she chose her own life over the lives of her enemies? When a shocking truth uncovers secrets from her past, Summer is faced with life or death situations. Should she accept what has been revealed and give of her healing power to the very dragon shapeshifters who destroyed her family -- or should she run as fast and as far as she can? And what about the too-sexy-for-his-own-good dragon shifter who has stolen her heart and soul --the very man who will not let her say 'No' to her deadly destiny? If she surrenders, will she lose more than just her heart and soul? Will the shifter she loves stand by and let her sacrifice everything?
Summer Althea has lived her life in secrecy. But Fate had plans for her. When she's targeted by a mysterious serial killer, her past suddenly comes back to haunt her. Dragon shapeshifters are real. And she is one Clan's bonded 'Healer'. The dragon shapeshifter protecting her won't take no for an answer when she's needed to heal the Clan's Ruler --even if it means she's forced to face her nightmare and find a way to survive it --without his help. Slade Stryker has one priority and that's to protect his dragon clan from exposure to the modern world. When Summer's heritage is revealed and she's needed to save the clan's aging ruler, Slade won't let anything stand in his way to make sure Summer surrenders her healing touch. Falling for her wasn't an option. Too bad his dragon self recognized his mate immediately. But Slade knows one thing: Summer will never fall in love with a dragon shifter; she'd rather die first. Unfortunately, before the danger surrounding them is fully exposed, death for either of them is a very real possibility.

Excerpt
The shadow may not have been human, but the driver most likely was. He wasn’t able to see inside the tinted windows of the van as it sped by so he couldn’t be sure if the accomplice was a male or female. He quickly memorized the license plate numbers. He spun around and made the quick dash back to his Hummer. Seconds later, he was peeling out of the parking garage and in pursuit of the fleeing van. His gut instinct was telling him that this was Summer’s mysterious stalker. It must have been waiting for her to exit the garage elevator. What the hell was it? Why was it stalking Reed’s daughter? Possible answers flew through his mind as he chased the van through late-afternoon traffic. As an afterthought, he positioned the police siren light on his dashboard. No sense in getting pulled over for speeding.  Bad mistake. Slade cursed. The occupants in the fleeing van saw the light immediately and made a sudden turn off the main street onto a side road. Slade was driving too fast to slow his own vehicle down. He swung the Hummer off onto the road and instantly felt the tilting as the tires left the road. Split seconds later, he lost control and the Hummer flew off into the ditch. Upside down.  Lucky for him, dragon shifters had tough hides. Not so lucky was the fact that while in human form, that didn’t count.
8)   What is your favorite attribute of the hero and heroine?
K:  I love a hero that is so Alpha that he can handle anything life throws at him ---but that he is also able to show a vulnerable, gentle side when its needed. For the Heroine: her strength of character and her strength of soul. Put the the h/h together and they are unbreakable --no matter what.

9)   What’s next?
K: Im almost finished with another Paranormal Romance having to deal with a Native American myth. After that, Im starting my Angel Series.

10)                  Tell me where you write?
K: In my office. I have a huge bedroom (40 ft by 12 ft) and its divided into sections. One section is my office.

11)                  Where would you like your career to be in 5 years?
K: With readers saying: WOW, she just keeps getting better with her books!

12)       Where can we find you?
K: My website is www.authorkari.com and readers can also reach me at: authorkari@yahoo.com

  2. Kari, Surrender Her Touch is the best dragon shifter book I've ever read. Not to mention that Slade is a seriously yummy hero.

Great job! Can't wait for you Native American romance and your Angel books. I know those will rock.
