Hi Cherri, glad to welcome you here today as we haven't met before and I always love getting to know other authors! Looking forward to hearing about you and your writing. Love the cover! You must be thrilled with it :)
On with the questions!
1) Who is your favorite author and why?
Bertrice Small is my favorite author because she writes romance like no other I have read. Her heroines exhibit the best in what a romance story is about, vulnerability yet able to overcome what life throws at them without hurting the bad guy landing their dream man.
2) When did you first consider yourself a writer?
LOL, am I a writer? I still find it surprising! Even though I have had Tangled Hearts published by EP and received excellent reviews from Pen & Muse and people I don’t know who have also read the book I still find it hard to call myself a writer. But, I always wanted to write and it was Mrs. Bertrice Small who inspired me well as guided me.
3) Describe your writing space?
Mostly I write in my head but when it is time to put it down I have my laptop which I take into my favorite room and to work. I have a sunroom off of my kitchen and when I’m out there I feel like I’m the only person on the planet surrounded by nature and of course my two Yorkies who bicker over lap space.
4) What are you reading now?
I’m reading paranormal from the many selections on EP’s website.
5) How many books have you written?
I have written and published one and just submitted a second one to EP. Which is your favorite? The second one, Skylark Blues, because I like these people and I think it will be fun to take the main character paranormal in the next story.
6) What comes first, plot or characters?
Characters most definitely. If you know who you are writing about the stories just follow.
7) Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?
Not really. Sometimes I ponder over a direction I want the story to take but that’s not as bad a writer’s block.
8) What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I like to cook and watch cooking shows on television. I sing in the church choir and enjoy traditional church music. Mostly I am an old fashioned homemaker I enjoy keeping house and the chores that go with homemaking.
9) Tell us about your latest book?
I just started a third book in which the character is making a major change in her life, moving into a house built in 1775. There she will discover things about herself with the help of the resident entity who is not sure he wants her or her issues upsetting his peace and quiet.
10) What’s next for you?
I am looking forward to getting more active with blogging, tweeting and promoting EP and my books. Life has visited our family two times too many in the past seven months. My mother passed away this summer after a long illness and then I was burying my 55 year old brother in law on my 60th birthday in November. My younger sister is naturally crushed so making sure she has support has been my focus since late summer. So I am excited about book number 3 and getting lost in the plot.
You sound very happy in life, Cherri which I think is a great and precious thing. Positive people are an inspiration and your voice really comes across. I wish you all the luck in the world with Tangled Hearts.
Okay, Cherri is waiting for your comments!
Congrats on Tangled Hearts! Your pic shows many beautiful quilts. Are you a quilter? There gorgeous! May your sales go through the roof! Dina Rae
ReplyDeleteThose beauitful quilts belong to Richland Sewing Center of Hurst, TX which is owned by my dear friends Doug and Jeannie Plant. They opened their store on a Sunday afternoon to host my book signing which we held in their classroom. If I had the talent of Jeannie and her customer I would love to quilt but I have no gifts for sewing. But I hang around those who doing hoping it will rub off onto me.
