Welcome to my blog, Charmaine! I love your pic and book cover. You look as though you are on a ranch, am I right? Is that your home? If it is, I am SO jealous! Living in South West England we don't get to see many places like that and it's something us Brits associate so much with America.
Anyway, enough of my chatter, over to you!
BREAKING NEWS! iBookBuzz declared my book “TO BE CONTINUED” and Jezebel’s Wish to be co-winners in Septembers Book of the Month.! Thanks for your support, my friends.
Anyway, enough of my chatter, over to you!, I’m, so pleased to be with you on this hot August morning talking about our favorite occupation, the wonders of writing.
Some people sleep walk; I sleep write. A story comes in the night and in the morning, I write, edit, write again and more. Time out when life interrupts for meals, exercise, grandchild care, but always the story on my mind.
Before thoughts of writing entered my head my head, I read murder, mayhem, suspense touched with humor. Stephen King, Robert B. Parker, Elmore Leonard, Susan Isaacs all some of my faves.
As an actor, rejection became a part of my life. No biggie. You move on. Keep writing, sending queries, doing your homework chin up.
I hope an editor catches and tweaks any errors I’ve made and improves my work. It’s a big job.
“HAVEN” is my latest release and first novella out in all e formats for $2.99. Romance combined with suspense to the end. It’s a sequel to my last book, “RECONSTRUCTING CHARLIE.”
Jimmy is tough and tender at twenty one, a talented guy in construction about to graduate as an architect.
“Jimmy Costigan gets more than he expected when his sister Charlie asks him to make a delivery to her new project, Haven. Her best friend Shelley Jackson, is now a psychiatric social worker about to handle the first case to arrive at this respite. A mother and three children held hostage by a strange assailant have just come in and Shelley is alone, in need of another pair of hands. One look at the amazing woman he’s admired from a distance and Jimmy is a goner. He has no hope of a relationship with the brilliant Shelley but stays to help out. Just for a night. Until the children reveal that the bad man disappeared and is on the loose. The family is in danger. The police are called but Jimmy, a sucker for anyone in peril, is compelled to stay and do what he couldn’t do long ago. . .And Jimmy has his own secrets.”
Next up is another sequel.. This time the focus is Jimmy’s explosive entanglement with the beautiful Shelley Jackson.
So you want to be a writer? What’s keeping you? Open your veins, let emotion fly and write. Best of luck to you all. A gift for the most interesting comment.

Great to have you here, Charmaine! Could you tell us a little more about Vanilla Heart Publishing? I think I'm right in saying, you are the first of their authors I have had the pleasure to host so it would be great to share some information about them with my visitors. How are they to work with?
Comments or questions for Charmaine, anyone?
Good morning, Rachel. I must correct cost of HAVEN. It's $3.99 ebook format. Moving on, I live in a small house north of New York. What you see in the background is the shed. For a small publishing company, Vanilla Heart is a dream; totally supportive of the authors. I'm fortunate to be with them. I look forward to hearing from your followers this week.
ReplyDeleteFor curiosity's sake, Charmaine, why is there a horse on the cover? Does any of the action take place on a horse ranch? I love horses ... so I'm naturally curious.
ReplyDeleteGood question, Smoky. Jimmy Costigan spent years on a ranch in Utah and when he left, he couldn't take his horse but manages to grab the saddle and special twirling rope. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteGreat interview, great author, great publisher. Nuff said!
