I am taking part in a contest with 26 other romance authors where each day we post a blog and invite you to comment - at the end of the day I will pick a random commenter to be enter into a grand prize draw. The winning package is amazing! You will get books, smellies, candles, pens and best of all...a brand new KINDLE!!
I am adding a signed copy of The Sharp Points of a Triangle into the pot. So what do I talk about today?
Well, I thought I would take this opportunity to get a feel for what romance readers and writers are looking for right now. So answer these three questions in your comments and it will help me out as well as adding your name to the pot!
1) Favourite romance sub-genre? Contemporary or Historical? If historical, which era?
2) Alpha or Beta hero?
3) Setting? UK, US or somewhere else? Where?
Good luck!!

Contemporary.

Somewhere else!
I'd never buy a skint hero either! Or one with a beard.

Good questions, Rachel - but I'm a bit on the fence with the answers!
ReplyDelete1. Contemporary or historical (medieval or regency.
2. Don't mind alpha or beta as long as he's manly enough!
3. UK, Europe or fantasy land.
It's really all about the story and characters for me, hence the fudging of answers.
Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteYour qestions - it all depends! It's the combination that makes the story for me.
Historical (late 19th century), Alpha, US West
or
Contemporary, Beta, rural setting in any country.
I agree with Rosemary that it's all about the story and characters. I prefer a high degree of suspense as well.
Thanks for being part of the FFL Tour!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteFavorite? I don't like the historical stuff, so pretty much anything else. :) And when it comes to heroes, I like to read strong female characters who can keep up with any of the male leads. The setting doesn't really matter so much. I tend to stay away from the high seas, but other than that, it's nice to read about new places.

1) Favourite romance sub-genre? I always go for the fantasy or dark romance. I do like a good mystery as well.
ReplyDelete2) Alpha or Beta hero? I think a strong character is always appealing. I prefer the female characters not to be weak or wishy washy.
3) Setting? UK, US or somewhere else? Where? I don't care where it's set so long as I can get a picture for the setting.
My favorite has always been historial.I enjoy Regency and Victorian.
