Welcome fellow Harlequin Superromance author, Kristina Knight...

Hi,

1.)                What did you want to be when you grew up? - I wanted to be so many things! For a while I wanted to be a police officer, and I considered teaching, and then the radio bug bit me (my first teenager job was at a local radio station!), and I decided journalism was my calling! I worked as a radio and TV reporter for 10 years before I started working on my books.

2.)                Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? - It kind of depends on the time of year - I don't drink coffee at all (but I love the smell!), love a hot chocolate on a cold winter day, and I love iced tea in the summer months.

3.)                What genre do you typically read? Why? - I read across the spectrum, but I always come back to contemporaries - I just love romance!

4.)                Share a favourite childhood memory. - All of my memories with my grandparents (Big Daddy and Big Mommy) are favorites. My older brother and I would spend Spring Break with them on their farm. We'd chase the chickens and tag along to farm auctions and fish...those were the best times.

5.)                Do you have any shameless addictions? ie. Tea, Books, Shoes, Clothes? - Bags! I'm addicted to Dooney & Bourke and Vera Bradley bags - I've never met one of their bags I didn't like!

6.)                What do you think is the biggest challenge of writing a new book? - Getting the characters figured out! Once I have the characters, I can get the story, but getting them characters just right is so hard!

7.)                Do you aim for a set amount of words/pages a day? - Depending on my deadline schedule, yeah. I aim for 1,000 words every day...when I'm closer to deadlines or have deadlines closer together, I aim for between 2,500 and 5,000 per day. I do take off weekends, though, for family time, and even though I take my writing stuff along to bebe's swim practices and things, I rarely work...I get too caught up in watching her!

What are your thoughts on writing a book series? - I love series, as a reader and as a writer. They are hard, though! I'm just getting into a brand new series for Harlequin Superromance, and I'm loving the characters, but the breadth of the setting is a little daunting!

Title: Protecting the Quarterback
Author: Kristina Knight

Book Blurb:

This is more than just a game...to her

Sports broadcaster Brooks Smith has always been more involved with the game than the players. But after she shares the spotlight at an awards ceremony with tabloid sensation Jonas Nash, one night of letting her guard down around the infamous quarterback spirals into many heated days and nights together when she gets assigned to the story of the year…

The hottest player in professional football is hiding a secret that could end his career for good. Now Brooks is caught on the sidelines between the job she loves and the man she is falling in love with.

Excerpt

He wanted to spend time with her off the football field, and he knew that was asking for trouble. Jonas didn’t care.
“When you’re through filing your story, will you be hungry?”
“Most likely.” She turned to face him.
“We could grab some dinner.”
“Why?”
The question came out of nowhere. Most women didn’t ask why Jonas Nash wanted to have dinner with them; they said yes and ran home to change. One more way Brooks was different than the women he’d known.
“Call it an apology dinner.”
“I’m not one of those girls who are going to be impressed with a single shrimp and a leaf of lettuce on a plate.”
“That’s part of the reason I’m asking.”
“I also still have a job to do.”
“I know. It’s only dinner.”
“Okay, then.”

  2. Hi Kristina! I guess I'm weird because I'm a coffee person all the way. Sweet Tea in the summer but hot chocolate? Nope. I've never liked it. But then again, I don't eat a lot of chocolate either.

    I loved Jonas and Brooks!

    Congratulations on the release!

  3. Hi, Kristi! I like anything with caffeine in it. (And if there's a little Bailey's or something else brightening, that's okay, too.)
