Welcome Total Bound Publishing author, Jill Steeples...

Hi Jill! Great to welcome you to my blog today - I'm looking forward to learning more about you and your work. Wishing you huge success and sales with your latest release, MOLLY MATTHEWS MEDDLES IN MARRIAGE! Great title :D Let's kick off with my questions...

1)          What is the strangest talent you have?

Hmmm, Im very good at drinking Prosecco and eating a family bag of Revels at the same time. Does that count?
2)          What is the best Halloween costume youve ever worn?

I havent. It wasnt really a thing when I was growing up.

3)          Are the titles of your books important?

Hugely. My books are fun, light-hearted reads and I like the titles to reflect that.  I must admit my working titles dont always stay for publication but Ive always been very happy with the choices my editors have made.

4)          If youre struggling with a scene or difficult character, what methods help you through it?

Sometimes it helps just to get away from the screen and in those instances I tend to head outdoors with the dog to see if I can gain a fresh perspective.  If that doesnt help, then you need to plant yourself in front of the computer and wade your way through the sticky patch until you come out on the other side.

5)          Do you prefer dog, cats or none of the above?

I love dogs. A house isnt a home without a dog about the place.  We have an orange English Pointer called Amber who is such a sweetie; shes very energetic when shes outside, but a real couch-potato at home.  Before she arrived a neighbourhood cat had moved in, uninvited I might add, and I grew very attached to him too, but he moved on when the puppy turned up. (Note: the cat has now happily adopted another family!)

6)          Whos your favourite author? Why?

7)          Jilly Cooper. I grew up on her single title romances and remember falling madly  in love with all her gorgeous heroes. I adore her easy-reading style and the humour, warmth and wit she brings to her stories.
8)          Do you have a pet peeve?

People who dont return their shopping trollies to their proper spaces at the supermarket and instead leave them in the middle of the car park. Grrr. Drives me mad.

9)          Do you remember your dreams when you wake up in the morning?

Only snatches of them and they rarely make any sense.

Bio:

Jill Steeples lives with her husband, two children and a high maintenance English Pointer called Amber in a lovely house, surrounded by Monkey Puzzle trees, in the English countryside. When shes not writing, she loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys reading (of course), films, musical theatre, walking, baking and eating cakes, and drinking wine.
She is the author of six romantic comedy novels and her short stories have appeared in anthologies and womens magazines around the world.

My latest book Molly Matthews Meddles in Marriage will be published on 16th February 2016 by Totally Bound Publishing.

Heres the blurb:

Matchmaker extraordinaire Molly Matthews is an expert in love, but her skills are put to the ultimate test when international heartthrob Rory Campbell waltzes into her office.
Molly Matthews knows everything there is to know about love. She should too, she runs the most exclusive marriage bureau in town. So why, then, is her own love life a complete disaster area?
When Rory Campbell, the international film star and hell-raising playboy, turns up at Mollys office, she cant believe hes looking for a wife. Despite her better judgment, Molly agrees to help Rory in his quest, but all her attempts at finding him the perfect woman are met with disdain from her trickiest customer to date.
Molly is furious that her professional integrity has been compromised and shes allowed her personal feelings to get in the way of a business relationship.
When photos of Rory appear in the press with Emma DSanti, a beautiful pinup and the only woman Molly suspects Rory has ever loved, she wonders if Rory is wasting her time and playing with her heart.
Can Molly still find Rory the woman of his dreams while putting her own burgeoning emotions to one side and hanging on to whats left of her frazzled heart?

  1. I'm with you about the shopping trolleys. Although worse than ones in the middle of car parks are the ones that end up in rivers. WHY???!!
