Welcome Wild Rose Press author, Chrys Fey...

Hi Chrys! Welcome to my site - it's great to welcome a Wild Rose Press author to my blog because I get a chance to find out what's happening over there. The Wild Rose Press is where it all began for me and where many of my friendships were made. Wishing you all the best with success and sales - let's get started...

1)  What kind of music do you like?

I am a big fan of rock music. It’s always my go to genre when I’m writing because I write a lot of action. My all-time favorite band is 30 Seconds to Mars. My other favorite band is Within Temptation, a band that is considered gothic but creates such beautiful music.

2)  Describe your dream home…

Nestled deep in the woods near a sparkling lake with a dock is a small cabin. Inside is a mint-green kitchen with a shelf of wine bottles and a rack of spices. The living room is fashioned with lace curtains and a red couch. Every corner reveals my interests and personality, including the sun catchers in the front window and the framed artwork by my nephews on the walls. Where am I in my dream home? I am sitting on the porch, typing on my laptop with my golden retriever asleep next to me.

3)  Favorite literary hero & heroine?

I thought this would be an easy question, but once it came time for me to answer it I couldn’t come up with one. There are many heroes and heroines I loved reading about, but I can’t pick one as my favorite. Sorry!

4)  What are you reading now?

I am working on reading a lot of eBooks on my Kindle: Someone to Watch Over Me by Jerrie Alexander, His Magick Touch by Samantha Gentry, and Aspen Shift by Lindsey K. McFerrin.

5)  How many books have your written?  Which is your favourite?

Well, I’ve written quite a few books, including a supernatural-thriller series. I would definitely say all four books in my series is tied as my favorite because I dedicated eleven years to writing them, but they are not currently published. So to be fair, I’ll pick Hurricane Crimes, my debut eBook available on Amazon.

6)  What comes first, plot or characters?

Plot usually comes first thanks to a brilliant idea that lights up my mind like a sparkler, but there have been wonderful moments when a character has pushed through my thoughts and told me they had my next great story idea.

7)  Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?

Oh yes! I believe every writer does even if they don’t want to admit it. Years ago, I suffered from writer’s block the size of the Great Wall of China. It happened while I was writing my series. I was stuck for almost a year until I realized I had to rewrite my series all the way at book one. Normally, a writer would see this as a setback, but I was relieved. Now when I get writer’s block I work on another piece until my creativity runs out and then I go back to WIP reenergized.

8)  Twitter or Facebook? Why?

Facebook. I don’t have a Twitter account right now and I love that Facebook allows you to really connect with people. I like getting to know readers, writers, and bloggers and Facebook makes that easy.

9)  Tell us about your latest book?

Hurricane Crimes is a romantic-suspense story that takes place during a hurricane. There is suspense and danger on nearly every page. Donovan was a fun character to write because he is like a protagonist and antagonist in one. And Beth is the type of woman I wish I could be: fierce enough to take on s hurricane and a possible murderer.

Blurb for Hurricane Crimes:

After her car breaks down, Beth Kennedy is forced to stay in Florida, the target of Hurricane Sabrina. She stocks up supplies, boards up windows, and hunkers down to wait out the storm, but her plan unravels when she witnesses a car accident. Risking her life, she braves the winds to save the driver. Just when she believes they are safe, she finds out the man she saved could possibly be more dangerous than the severe weather.

Donovan Goldwyn only wanted to hide from the police, but the hurricane shoved his car into a tree. Now he's trapped with a beautiful woman while the evidence that can prove his innocence to a brutal crime is out there for anyone to find.

As Hurricane Sabrina wreaks havoc, Beth has no other choice but to trust Donovan to stay alive. But will she survive, or will she become another hurricane crime?

10)  What’s next for you?

I have a lot of promoting ahead of me for Hurricane Crimes and with 30 Seconds, my next release that’ll be coming out with The Wild Rose Press later this year. I am also writing another romantic-suspense, In the Ring, about a cute duo: a wrestler and a librarian.
