Welcome Crimson Rose author, Galen Rose...

Hi Galen, welcome to my blog! Hope you enjoy your time here :)

Loving your cover! I think Crimson Rose create some of the most beautiful covers out there - just gorgeous. Looking forward to learning more about you and your work...

1)   Did you set any goals for 2013?
I did indeed. To finish two manuscripts and get them published. I’m submitting the first of the two by Sept. 1. It’s been harder to write the second book, than it was to write the first.

2)   Who or what has been your biggest influence as a writer?

My friends. They have always enjoyed my short stories and encouraged me to expand and expound on them.  But immediately following my friends, is my RWA group. Their support has been immeasurable.

3)   How long does it take you to write a 50,000-60,000 word manuscript?  My first one took 3 months of butt-in-the-chair writing. Books number 2 has been tougher because life seems to keep intruding with a sledge hammer.

 4)   Tease us with a blurb/short except.

From: A Place to Rest My Heart:
Strong, warm hands grabbed my arms to steady me, “You always so jumpy?” That smirk that had been on his face in the bar was still there. He released my arms, stepped back, and I watched his eyes darken with heat as he slowly looked me over head to toe. I realized at that point I was only wearing a pair of well-worn sweat pants and a thin tank top.
“Some people, myself included, think it’s rude to stare.”
“I don’t give a damn what some people think.” He moved a step closer to me, his eyes boring into mine, and I caught a whiff of some knee-melting cologne. I got the feeling he had something to say, his manner shifting from leering to threatening. But I held fast and stared right back at him. I turned the tables and gave Sean an appraising look, taking in how his worn jeans fit nicely over his long legs, and that his t-shirt fit snugly across his chest. I moved forward to stand toe to toe with him. His grin turned cocky, but his eyes still had some heat to them and his voice was soft and direct, “I’m sure you want to hit the road as soon as possible but if you’re hungry, breakfast is this way.” I got the message loud and clear.
“Where the hell am I?”
            “Is this twenty questions?”
“Am I going to need to ask that many before you tell me where the hell I am and where my clothes are?”

5)   Tell us about a new author you’ve recently discovered.
Casey Dawes: California Homecoming. I really have enjoyed her series set along the Monterey Bay area.

6)   Name two romances you’ve read more than once

The first is Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Cruise & Bob Mayer, and the second is any of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

7)   Tell us about your first car
My first car that my parents gave me, was a huge boat. A Pontiac Catalina with a leaky roof. It was quickly named, The Mildew Mobile. But the first car I bought myself was a little red Ford Ranger truck. I loved that truck and it was pretty speedy too. Or maybe that was just me!

8)   Where can we find you?

Thanks for being here, Galen...on with the comments!!
