Welcome fellow Wild Rose Press author, Christine Warner...

Welcome to my site, Christine! And Happy New Year to you! I am so glad you asked to stop by after all our chatting and getting to know each other on Facebook, I already feel like I know you well so it's great to have you here. You post some gorgeous pictures of the view from your house in the states, a million miles from where I live in the UK. I hope to make it to your neck of the woods some time...

Anyway, over to you!

Happy New Year! This time of year is a time for reflection…looking over the past year at triumphs, lost goals, and yes, even failure.

We’re all human, so we’re all going to have a sampling of each of these things in the last twelve months. Some personal, some professional, but always some to put aside to work on over the next twelve months.

I have to say 2012 was a wonderful year. Ups and downs for sure—like everyone—but overall I can’t complain. But that doesn’t stop me from wondering and hoping and filling with excitement at the thought of what 2013 has to offer.

Personally, I watched my children mature and make some decisions in their own lives that made me proud. I also was lucky enough to take several wonderful trips away with my husband after years of scrimping and saving because a trip didn’t seem a necessity when there was so much to take care of around the home front.

Professionally, I had 2 books published with The Wild Rose Press. Some Like it in Handcuffs—a light-hearted romantic suspense with humor, and Two-Timing the Boss—a contemporary office romance.

Both books had some wonderful reviews, and it felt good to know that the stories I enjoyed writing were so well received by readers.

I was also blessed in 2012 with a contract from Entangled Publishing for a contemporary romance in their Indulgence line titled Bachelor’s Special. I don’t have an official release date yet, but I do know it’ll be this year, and I can’t wait J

A special treat I received the last week of the year was some recognition from Nikki Barrett—owner and reviewer extraordinaire from Storm Goddess Reviews & More. She listed me and several other debut authors like D’Ann Lindun, Brenda Dyer and Kristina Knight (to name a few) as 2012 debut authors to watch.  Here’s the link if you’d like to see the full article.

How about you…was 2012 a wonderful year and if so why…or was it a year you’re glad to see go and you’re looking forward to what 2013 has in store?

I’d like to share the blurbs from each of my releases from 2012:

Two-Timing the Boss:

Farah Smith is on a mission: secure the funds for her twin sister’s surgery.  She’ll do whatever it takes to succeed.  Even if that means putting her values aside to work for a man she finds morally bankrupt.  But when the real Farah meets her new boss, she wonders if she’ll be able to resist his sexy advances long enough to help her sister.
From the blonde wig, to the stilettos strapped around her ankles, Farah’s a clone of Keller Donovan’s harem of past assistants.  She can’t believe she’s let herself be talked into the disguise, let alone working for the man planning to demolish the hospital her sister so desperately needs, but the salary he offers is the only way she’ll be able to afford her sister’s surgery.  The moment Farah meets Keller she realizes her most daunting task isn’t typing, spreadsheets or organizing travel arrangements, but fighting the growing attraction toward a man whose ruthlessness is legendary in the boardroom as well as the bedroom.
Determined not to end up in a disastrous marriage like his divorced parents, Keller believes all relationships should have a shelf life of sixth months or less.  But when he meets Farah, all bets are off.  He not only wants her to continue as his personal assistant, but his own private bed warmer.  Unfortunately, his offer of an affair doesn’t sit well with her fairytale dreams or the strangled hold gripping his heart.

Some Like it in Handcuffs:
Sunny Kennedy, the only female in a family of blue blood male detectives, is determined to prove testosterone isn’t the only qualification required to solve a cold case. Handcuffed while undercover then taken to the precinct by an attractive detective, her domineering family demands she work with Detective Judson Blackwolf, or she’s off the case.
Judson Blackwolf thinks women in law enforcement should work behind the scenes. The prospect of working with his Captain’s sexy daughter doesn’t thrill him. He only agrees in hopes of solving the murder of his one time mentor’s daughter. Once the case is over, he’s moving to Montana to heal his wounds from the loss of his last partner.
But when their investigation takes a dangerous turn, Sunny and Judd soon realize their feelings for each other cannot be denied.

Thanks so much Rachel for letting me invade your blog and take the floor. It’s always a pleasure to visit.

  6. Hi Christine,

It's always nice to meet up with a fellow rose! It sounds like 2012 was a great year for you, with more to come in 2013.

I tend to be one of those who stick with one publishing house, can I ask why you chose to spread out your talent, so to speak?!

  7. Hi girl! I will say you are one busy chicka! One other 'new' thing you didn't mention that is a raving success since you birthed it in 2012 is your blog. Not just a fabulous blog, but your total BURST into social media (of which I claim no credit or fault!) :) I can't wait to see what you do this year!

  8. Thanks Ally...I can't wait either!

Hi Debra, thank you for coming by. I've read a lot of category romance and have always enjoyed it and that is what I wanted to write. So when Entangled Publishing opened and developed a category line I knew I wanted to submit to them. They're an awesome house....as is The Wild Rose Press. So I am lucky to have 2 wonderful publishers.

Thanks Calisa..I do love blogging for sure...and everything social media! lol

  9. Hello, Rachel! Nice blog you have.
Christine, I'm so jealous. I've often wished to travel across the pond and here you make it before I do... lol.
Yes, my dear friend. Two thousand thirteen is going to be great. I can feel it in my bones.
I wish you all the success with both your babies, Bachelor Special, (btw. which I can't wait to get my hands on) and whatever you have up your creative sleeve next.
    Have a safe flight home.
    Call when you land,
