Mmm....books!!

I just added the last two books I’ll be reading this year to my reading list and very proud to say I’ve read 49 books throughout 2012, yay! How do I know this? Because I am the sad person who keeps a running log of the books she’s read on a Word document. I kid you not…

I LOVE books. I am a self-confessed bibliophile who has over two hundred books yet to be read on my shelves – and I am still buying more! I also have a Kindle that I download books onto constantly with absolutely no idea when I’ll get around to reading them.

So what are your favourite books? Genres to read?

I have too many, it has to be said - I love to read everything from every sub-genre of romance (except paranormal), to women's fictions to historicals (especially by the wonderful Philippa Gregory) and biographies (usually historical figures though - can't stand the thought of opening a celebrity type). I have read some truly wonderful books this year, one of my favourites being the last - Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

You MUST read this wonderfully romantic, touching and thoughtful story - just superb...

Okay, well, that's my post for the day - BOOKS, LOVE 'EM!

Love to hear what you're reading right now??

  2. I do exactly the same thing, Rachel. I've got so many downloads on my Kindle I have to go back and check to make sure I'm not trying to download the same book again! Right now I'm reading Mackenzie Crowne's The Billionaire's Con. It's great!

    1. Like me, Donna! I usually have 2-3 books going on at any one time. Makes me as though I'm getting through them a bit quicker, lol!

  4. I am so like you, Rachel. Still have a pile of paperbacks I've yet to read and keep acquiring new books on my Nook. My latest read was a book I purchased years ago and finally got to. Thought it would be a great read for Halloween, but it took me over a month to find time to finish it,'Single White Vampire' by Katie MacAlister. It was funny and entertaining. Next, I have a couple of magazines I want to read before I start on another book.

    2. Ah, yes, the magazines! Didn't even mention them...

I'm subscribed to at least three writing mags as well as 'women's' mags too - how did we ever think we'd have enough time to get through it all, lol?!

  5. Hi Rachel,
I'm a huge book fan. I received a Kindle last year for Christmas but still find myself reading more actual books than on my Kindle. I can't go into Barnes & Noble without coming out with two or three or four books or more. I'll read any type of genre except horror and science fiction. Right now, I'm reading Summer Nights by Susan Mallery.

    1. Yep, I'm the same, Katherine - I love my Kindle but I don't think it will ever replace my print books. I love the feel of a real book and 'real' reading. Running for cover seeing some of my books are only available in eformat!
