Back from the annual holiday to Wales!

Well, we're back and what a fabulous holiday we had once again! This is our fourth visit to beautiful Trawsfynydd in North Wales and sadly, our last for awhile. My daughters (13 & 11) are just getting too far into their teenage years to be happy with long country walks, the odd visit to the beach and long, lazy night barbecuing on the veranda. The next visit might just be me and Mr B alone when the kids are older!

God bless the internet, Ipad, Blackberry and cable TV for distracting our children from the world's delights! *sigh*

Having said that, this year the pair of them enjoyed it whether they will readily admit it or not - the photos speak for themselves! Look at the smiles :)

The week flew by bathed in glorious sunshine and soft breezes - we walked, visited a copper mine, spent a couple of days on the beach and in the sea. Happy days. Up the road from our log cabin is an idyllic pub situated high above the most beautiful Welsh valley you will ever see. We ate home cooked food and drank fine wine. Heaven!

As for inspiration...I never fail to come home from our time in Wales raring to write and create. The ideas vary from the sweet to the spicy, the macabre to the nostalgic - I love it there! So today, I will spend typing up the notes and ideas bouncing around in my brain waiting to be written. The problem is finding the time to write the actual stories! I have at least two new novel AND two novella ideas. Lord, help me.

Anyway, that's my short blog post about the Brimble's annual holiday to beautiful Wales - enjoy the pics! Love to hear from you...

  2. Rachel, thanks for sharing this. I actually lived in Ynyslas nr Borth in N. Wales for a few years and my daughter was born in Aberystwyth. We had a house right across the road from Cardigan Bay and it was truly lovely, though living there was difficult year round. I actually live in NYC now!!!

  3. Thanks for stopping by, ladies! Glad you like the pics, Kathy :)

It is definitely a beautiful part of the world, Andrea - are you American then? Or British? Certainly a big difference between Wales and NYC!
