What are you up to, Rachel??

As I've got a guest coming tomorrow instead of today as usual, I thought I'd take the opportunity to give you a run down of what I am up to and what I have under consideration with publishers right now...

Under Submission

My first romantic suspense novel for four years - I hope this will be the first of a trilogy set in a small seaside fictional UK town called Templeton Cove. Here's the working blurb:

Detective Sergeant Cat Forrester’s life revolves around her alcoholic mother and her career in the UK police force. When Jay Garrett, an old friend and “one off” lover calls asking for her help investigating the murder of their mutual friend at Templeton Cove, Cat is torn. The case is out of her jurisdiction and her mother’s drinking is out of control – she shouldn’t leave her. But when Jay confides he feels it’s his fault their friend is dead and he could have prevented it, Cat has no choice but to go.

Jay is handsome, wealthy and successful but needs to make amends for the massive mistakes he’s made. Once a drug addict, Jay’s conscience is riddled with the wrongs he committed and he is desperate to prove to the people he hurt, and himself that he has turned his life around. Reunited with the girl he let go seven years before, Jay’s determination to avenge their friend’s death and make Cat his is all the motivation he needs to put things right.

Both struggling with their demons and anger, Cat and Jay seek solace in each other and join together to find a killer – and everlasting love. As their relationship deepens so does the danger – but will their love versus a killer’s hate triumph in the end?

Also under consideration, a new sexy contemporary romance with a feisty and funny heroine who runs a sex shop and the hero, her hunky neighbor and dad to four-year-old twins - there's gonna be fireworks!

Blurb:

When her father was murdered by a gang of youths, Sienna Lloyd named herself Potterford’s protector – her sexy lingerie shop the place the town’s women could visit and feel safe. So when that shop is in danger of closing, Sienna needs a solution. A solution that will keep her in a place she feels…no, not her, the women feel safe.

The answer is to move the shop to her home, 16 Marsden Place. The problem? Her new neighbor, the delicious but seriously uptight, Jack Beaton. Oh, and his four-year-old twin girls.

Jack moved to the tiny town of Potterford in a bid to start again. A new life for his children safe from their violent and sex-crazed mother, his ex-wife. So when he discovers his neighbor intends opening a sex shop right next door. He’ll do anything to ensure it doesn’t happen…including fighting every ounce of his attraction to her and his innate need to trust again.

My next release?

It's a Victorian historical novella with The Wild Rose Press - "Love's Debt" has been accepted and the final edits have just gone back to my editor. I am really hoping for notification of a release date and cover art in the next couple of weeks :)

Blurb:

To keep herself from the depths of poverty, Milly Shepherd needs to be appointed manager of the Red Lion Tavern. The elderly owner is in failing health and has promised her the job permanently if no one more suitable applies. Milly will fight with her entire being to make the job her own.

Joseph Jacobs needs to supplement his income to pay off his father’s creditors and save him from debtor’s prison. Though the job as manager of the local tavern looks promising, Milly is favored by both the owner and customers. Instead, Joseph swallows his pride and agrees to tend bar.

As they work together, their attraction grows, their goals cross, and both Millie and Joseph find they must face their fears …the question is whether they face them alone or together?

Really excited about the future, fingers crossed for bigger and better news really soon - Sooo, what are you guys up to??
