The Mistress of Pennington's Tour

What a fabulous day!

I was away from my desk all day yesterday but spending it in the perfect way for every author...with other authors!

My friend and mentor, Julie Cohen was doing one of the two things she does best (the other being write fantastic novels!) and that was teach the craft of penning a great, page-turning story. The course was Advanced Novel Writing so everyone in the room had completed at least one novel but we all soon realized and remembered just how much we need to learn and execute each and every time we sit down to plan, write and revise our commercial fiction or romance novels.

I am just coming to the end of my first draft of novel number nine so the timing of this course was perfect for me. There have been mistakes made, people and I am not ashamed to admit it. The good thing though, with this course and Julie's wise words fresh in my mind, I know I can attack my revisions with confidence. Always a good thing!

As well as loving every technical aspect of the course, it was great to catch up with a few familiar faces, meet Twitter friends in person and find new friends to keep in contact with. Three cheers for Julie and her wonderful courses. Hip, hip!!
