A Day With the Family in Bath!

Yesterday was a fabulously Autumnal day in England. I woke up and decided to pack my hubby, kids and Black Lab into the car for a trip to Bath whether they wanted to go or not! As it happens, they did and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

As the City is literally on my doorstep, I tend to take it a little for granted (bad, bad girl!), it wasn't until the cutest little three-year-old American girl approached Max (my lab) to pet him that I remembered my American readers and visitors and took as many pictures as I could.

We walked all around the most famous spots as well as things being interspersed with a street performer in a particularly fetching fuschia pink leotard! Every day is different in Bath as it was hundred of years ago - people travel from all over the world to see this fantastically historical and famous City. Enjoy the pictures of Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge, The Jane Austen Centre, the Parade Gardens Park and of course, The Pump Room.
I have more to follow but thought I'd save them for another blog, lol!
I am asked more about Bath than anything else during my interviews and I love talking about it so here is a little array of pics for you to enjoy!

  2. Gorgeous! I was lucky enough to visit Bath once, but it was thirty years ago. My memory banks need recharging so...do you have a guest room? LOL I'll be dragging hubby across the pond to visit my ancestors in Scotland in a few years, maybe I should put Bath on the itinerary.

    Great pictures, keep them coming!

  6. Oh, lovely pics, Rachel! I especially adore the second one. Beautiful view! And, of course, I'd love to walk into that Jane Austen Centre. What act was of the street performer in the pink costume doing? He looks like he's dancing and playing with either knives or drumsticks?

  7. So happy to share these pictures with you! I must remember to take more when I am out and about because I know how much you enjoy our history and landscapes.
Alyson, the street performer was juggling knives - well spotted, lol!

I've just come back from Lacock which is another beautiful place where we live - they filmed Cranford there, starring Judi Dench. Not sure if you guys have seen that in the US?

  8. I love Bath. Love it. We visited there in 2004 while on a trip to London. Bath was a nice surprise, a real gem. The Roman bath was better than any of the ruins we'd seen in Rome. How lucky for you to live so close.

  10. Oh, thank you, Rachel! I loved each and every picture of Bath. I had such a short time there in 2005 I can barely remember it. I must go back, if for nothing else, but to see the fuscia-clad street performer! :)

  11. Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your lovely photos of Bath. When I lived in Germany, I used to visit Britian often and Bath was a favorite place for me. Even more intriguing was the countryside. I hope you will share some photos set outside the city sometime, as well.
