Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs B!!

Thirteen years ago today I married my best friend, lover and confidante, Terry Lee Brimble. We were friends first but despite our insistence that neither of us wanted to start anything serious, we saw each other every day from our first date through the following five years, lol! We were just twenty-four when we married and I became pregnant with our first daughter on the honeymoon so we were pretty much thrust into parenthood from the second we were married - and survived!

In the following years we have had our difficulties and our good times - with a child who didn't sleep through the night until she was 14 months, there were times I didn't think we were going to make it at all. But we did and we are still going strong...most of the time ; )

The only thing that I could possibly pinpoint as our 'secret' is lots and lots of laughter - Terry makes me do the 'ugly laugh' more than anybody else on this planet!

As a lot of you probably know, me, my family and our best friends with their young children were caught up in the French floods last year and it was a life-changing, life-appreciating moment for all of us. Since we were rescued I have made a conscious effort to mark every birthday, anniversary and achievement with renewed enthusiasm and reflection.

Sooo to my lovely husband, I love you, always will and looking forward to the next thirteen years of ups and downs!

  2. Happy Anniversary. Someone asked me the other day what makes for a happy marriage. (It's my 33rd this year!) Laughter, I told them. Laughter and helping each other over the rotten stuff life chucks at you. It makes you stronger together. Bless you both and wishing you many more happy years.

  3. Happy Anniversary, Rachel and Terry! What a great romantic story. Yep, I remember those nights when my lovely (now grown up) daughter didn't sleep all night until she was two and a half!
